Linseed
Once a common feature in the English countryside, the pretty blue flowers of the Linseed crop are becoming an increasingly rare sight. Although a small area is still grown for the specialist bakery market (the crunch seeds scattered on top of granary breads) linseed in its various forms is now only a minor crop.
For growers interested in this specialist opportunity, Nickerson are able to offer conventional brown linseed of the industrial oil type (Oscar, Taurus), edible brown linseed (Gemini), or edible yellow linseed varieties (Linola) Thirlmere and Windermere.
