WESTMINSTER is a very high yielding spring malting variety with long, stiff straw. It has excellent all-round disease resistance combined with a very high specific weight.

Westminster has all of the necessary qualities for brewing and export markets, including full approval from the IBD (Institute of Brewing & Distilling) for brewing. Westminster also provides significant benefits for the feed barley grower, making it a truly multi-purpose variety.

Westminster's excellent resistance to mildew and Rhynchosporium offers growers real opportunities to reduce fungicide input and to grow the variety in areas of the country where these diseases predominate. In Scottish trials Westminster has shown a high level of resistance to abiotic leaf spotting and moderately good resistance to Ramularia.
