Tartan - a spring barley which has a good yield potential both with and without fungicide treatment. It has no major agronomic weaknesses, is early to mature and has shown good potential for grain distilling, with a superior hot water extract to Optic and a very low level of GN. Tartan has recently received Provisional Approval 1 from the Institute of Brewing and Distilling (IBD) for specific use for grain distilling. Parentage: (NSL 97-5547 X Adonis) x Cellar.
Concerto - a spring malting barley with a very high yield potential, stiff straw and good all-round disease resistance. Concerto has shown good potential for both brewing and distilling. It produces very low levels of glycosidic nitrile (GN) making it attractive to the distilling industry. Concerto is a Recommended List candidate for 2008.
Berlioz - a spring malting barley with a high yield potential, stiff straw and good all-round disease resistance. Berlioz has shown good potential for both brewing and distilling because it produces grain with very low levels of glycosidic nitrile (GN). Berlioz is a Recommended List candidate for 2008.
