Qplus is a high yielding winter wheat with bread-making potential (nabim Group 2). It is the only bread-making variety on the HGCA Recommended List that has genetic resistance to wheat orange blossom midge (WOBM).
Qplus has very stiff straw, good all-round disease resistance with no weaknesses and good physical grain quality. Qplus is provisionally classified as a ukp bread wheat suitable for export.
Qplus has shown a high yield potential in HGCA RL trials, similar to Solstice when fungicide treated and 6% above without treatment.
Qplus is a relatively long strawed variety with excellent resistance to lodging when PGR treated. It has good resistance to sprouting.
Qplus has good all-round disease resistance, with no major weaknesses and high untreated yields, providing growers with the opportunity for targeted fungicide programmes to reduce growing costs.
