Combining Peas
The Nickerson pea involvement is very wide ranging from breeding green peas for human consumption to varieties for animal feed purposes. The Limagrain Group has three pea breeding sites, Norfolk in the UK, Chartres in France and Holland. Nickerson represent a number of European pea breeders as marketing agents.
The UK pea breeding programme is led by Dr Keith Fox.The team holds an impressive list of pea varieties to their name which are cultivated not just in all major European pea growing areas but also in New Zealand and North America.
