EMERSON WINTER OILSEED RAPE SET TO BE NORTHERN GROWERS’ TOP CHOICE FOR LIGHT LEAF SPOT RESISTANCE

As oilseed rape harvesting moves northwards, the new hybrid winter oilseed variety Emerson is living up to its promise of giving growers outstanding resistance to light leaf spot plus a high gross output.
“Light leaf spot is the main foliar disease to attack winter oilseed rape in the north, so Emerson’s outstanding resistance makes it the top choice for growers where this disease is present,” said Les Daubney, Nickerson’s oilseeds and pulses product manager. “While the incidence of crops affected with light leaf spot in the south and midlands is typically around 25%, in the north and Scotland this jumps to over well over 50%.”
“Emerson is a hybrid winter oilseed rape variety with a very high gross output, good standing and the best available resistance to light leaf spot. Its high oil content and seed yield offers the potential of high economic performance for growers.” he added.
